Jim has been asked by several clients to offer a beginning photography course, and here it is. If you are new to photography, or if you've been shooting for a while but never really took the time to understand the basic concepts that underscore picture taking, this is the course for you. Understanding how to choose camera settings, learning why depth of field is a constantly moving target, and fully grasping the exposure triangle will make a huge difference in your appreciation and love of photography.
The two sessions will be recorded, and you'll receive a video file of the entire presentation to keep as a reference.
Some of the topics covered are:
> Mirrorless cameras versus dSLR's
> What lenses are best to own
> Exposure triangle explained
> Complexities of depth of field made clear
> What camera settings to use for various subjects
> HDR explained
> Camera controls and menus examined
> Cropped sensor versus full frame sensor
> White balance and color temperature
> The importance of exposure compensation
> What filters are important
When you sign up, you'll receive a link to GoToMeeting for online screen sharing and a time to sign in. The once-per-week session on Saturday mornings will span two weeks (plus a bonus 3rd week solely for critiques). Each session will be two to three hours. Jim will answer questions any time during the presentation. There will be homework assignments and critiques on submitted work. Submitting your work for Jim's feedback is entirely voluntary. Take this opportunity to learn from a master of creative photography.
After each week's instruction, you will receive a link to the video file of the workshop so you can replay it at your leisure. In this way, if you forget something Jim covered, you can review the material and become proficient in understanding your camera, taking well-exposed pictures, and finally grasping the principles of photography so you can produce images you'll be proud to share with your friends and family.
Your investment in the course to really understand the fundamentals of photography is $179. Click the BUTTON below to register.
