I'm getting more aggressive, and more comfortable, sending my drone to greater distances to capture amazing images.. This shot of a 'braided' river system here in Iceland -- rivulets of water interspersed with sand and lava -- was taken from 1190 feet in altitude and 1-1/4 miles from the take-off position. This kind of natural artistry can't be seen from the ground, but from an elevated vantage point nature becomes art. My settings were 1/800, f/2.8, and 200 ISO. Before drones, photographers never had the ability to capture such stunning images except from very expensive helicopters or small planes. Now, it's a reality, and this new technology makes us see the world through a new set of lenses. What an exciting time to be a photographer!
