There are so many unique buildings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi you could spend weeks photographing them all. This one is the 'Cheddar Cheese' high-rise in Dubai. Who would have thought someone would design a building that cost hundreds of millions of dollars and that looked like cheese? I usually don't like architecture pictures in which the verticals converge -- i.e. extreme keystoning -- but in this kind of image it's more about graphic design and bold lines than architecture. I used a 16-35mm wide angle lens set to the widest focal length, and the settings were 1/320, f/11, and 500 ISO. I replaced the sky because the original one was white and boring due to the amount of haze in the air.

Jim - Thanks so much, Lois. I do a lot of research to find the best subjects to photograph.

Lois Anderson - LOVE this image. If only I had seen it before going there last year! Brilliant!
