When I travel, I am always looking for great backgrounds and photogenic environments to use in combination with models. That was my thinking with the picture of the boys at the waterfall I posted yesterday. Also in Bali, I found this amazing dragon staircase quite by accident . . . it's in a furniture store of all places. With permission from the store manager, I hired two young Balinese dancers to pose here. The problem was about 5 or 6 feet from the base of the stairs was a huge cabinet, so it was impossible to get back far enough to use a sensible lens. The only lens I could use was either a 16mm wide angle lens or wider. For this shot, I shot with 16mm. My settings were 1/80, f/11, and 6400 ISO. In post-processing, I used Topaz DeNoise to mitigate the noise from the high ISO setting.
