This is one of the abandoned homes in Dawson, Georgia that my group and I photographed today. My drone hovered at 65 feet above the ground, and my settings were 1/4000, f/1.8, and 150 ISO. For most aerial shots, I set the built-in camera to ‘auto’ because depth of field isn’t relevant since everything is in focus because it's relatively far away, and with enough light the shutter speed really doesn’t matter either. It will virtually always be fast enough for sharp pictures. Even if the light is low, however, the drone is so stable as it hovers that slow shutters will produce sharp pictures, too. So, the auto setting is fine. I do underexpose the images by either 1/3 or 2/3 f/stops to protect highlights from becoming too light.
