This is one of the most unique and photogenic churches I've ever seen. It is Saint John the Baptist Church in Mogno, Switzerland. It was built in 1992 on the same spot that a 17th century church was constructed, but the original structure was totally destroyed by an avalanche 6 years earlier. The new church is small but ultra modern and totally graphic. I took two dozen compelling compositions, all with my 14mm Sigma f/1.8 wide angle. This shot shows the altar and the amazing way in which the spartan marble alter is framed. My settings were 1/125, f/8, and 800 ISO. Tomorrow I'll post another composition I like.

Jim - Thanks for the correction, Jim. I corrected this on my FB page but forgot to correct it on the blog.

Jim Steadman - Love the photo. Be aware that alter is a verb meaning to change - like alter a pair of pants. Altar is the word you mean - the Altar of a church is the place where the 'sacrifice' of the mass is made.
