When cheetah cubs are very young, they have thin, silver-blonde hair on the back of their necks, shoulders and back. It's really beautiful, but it's short lived. After 3 or 4 months it disappears. I was lucky to capture it on these two cubs while on safari in Kenya. I captured this image with a Canon 500mm f/4 telephoto plus a 1.4x teleconverter giving me 700mm of focal length. The settings were 1/640, f/9, and 200 ISO. I wish the cheetah closest to the camera had been turned a little more in my direction, but I still love the shot. Moments like this come and go often in fractions of a second.
