Every photographer who visits San Francisco wants this shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is taken from the Marin Headlands on the Sausolito side of the bridge, and I shot this last night at twilight. It was very windy (and cold), and even though I was using a tripod I felt the pictures may not be sharp because of the force of the wind hitting both the camera and the tripod. To deal with that potential problem, I stood right next to the tripod and used my body to shield the camera from the brunt force of the wind. In addition, I held the ballhead in my hand and applied a strong downward pressure on it. This helped stabilize the tripod. As a result, my pictures are tack sharp.
The settings for this picture are 10 seconds f/6.3, 100 ISO, 24-105mm lens set to 32mm.
