This is a sunset shot of sand dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia. The unusual pattern of light caught my eye, and I framed the image with a 248mm focal length on a 100-400mm zoom. My settings were 1/250, f/13, and 500 ISO. Using the burning and dodging tools plus Image > adjustments > levels in Photoshop, I adjusted the contrast for maximum drama. This national park in Namibia has 13 miles of stunning sand dunes on both sides of the road, and the graphic designs, the S-curves, and the play of light and shadow are simply unparalleled anywhere in the world.
