Botswana offers one of the greatest photo opportunities in Africa for wildlife. There are fewer tourists and fewer vehicles, and this means the animals aren’t surrounded by land rovers and vans as they often are in East Africa. This photo tour encompasses some of the best game parks in southern Africa where you will have up-close encounters with the most spectacular animals on the planet. The vehicles we use are open so you have an unencumbered view to easily shoot from any angle, and the lodges we stay in are beautiful with delicious food and a warm and welcoming staff. If you are considering this photo tour and want to talk to Jim about what equipment to bring, drop him an email and he’ll be happy to speak with you on the phone about equipment or any aspect of the trip.

Here, where the life-giving waters of the Okavango meet up with the vast Kalahari, ancient Mopane forests, open grassland, seasonal floodplains and Riverine habitats have formed, creating one of the most magnificent and welcoming animal sanctuaries in all of Africa. Shaded by giant ebony trees, the magnificent Moremi tree lodge is an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure, consisting of a main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining room and cocktail bar. The Moremi Reserve is rated as one of Africa’s finest game-viewing areas, offering sanctuary to abundant herds of elephant, sable, giraffe, tsessebe, lechwe, wildebeest, impala and waterbuck. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena complete the picture. Birding is quite spectacular, especially early in the morning. The game viewing activity can be by an open 4×4 land rover, powerboat or traditional dugout canoe (mokoro) on the Okavango Delta’s waterways.
