This church with the unusual name of Lepers House Church dates to the 14th century and was once used to house and treat people with leprosy. It sits high above the Salzach River that runs through Salzburg, Austria. A couple of days ago the sky was covered by a deep overcast, but just after sunset a window opened in the west and a super saturated band of crimson could be seen for 20 minutes or so. It was quite dramatic. I photographed the scene with a 105mm focal length, and the settings were 1/80, f4.5, and 6400 ISO. I didn't have my tripod with me, hence the high ISO setting. It's interesting to note that the sky seen during the blue hour will appear deeply cobalt blue whether or not there is a cloud cover. If the sky is totally devoid of clouds or if it's socked in with a thick cloud cover, at twilight it turns deep cobalt blue.
