A great medieval fortress

One of my favorite shots in Europe is this one -- the 12th century Alcazar of Segovia, Spain, at twilight. For this picture, I wanted to include as much detail in the shadows -- specifically the trees at the base of the fortress -- so I made the exposure well before dark just after the lights came on. The camera settings balanced the illuminated portions of the medieval architecture with the shadows very well, but then in post-processing I also used the shadows slider to lighten the darker areas of the image. I used a 24-105mm lens, and the camera settings were 1/80, f/4.5, and 1250. I handheld the camera.
