A pretty cool crab

I photographed this vampire crab at my Frog and Reptile workshop that takes place in Kansas City every summer. This is not a frog nor a reptile, but we often have other intriguing creatures to shoot. I used a 50mm macro lens plus a ring flash, and the settings were 1/160, f/22, and 250 ISO. The camera - subject distance was about 5 inches. When a subject is reflective -- the carapace of the crab is shiny and reflects the light from the flash -- I use Photoshop to eliminate some of the reflectivity. Specifically, I use the clone tool so the white areas of the reflections are much less obtrusive and distracting.
