Braided river

I am intrigued by the 'braided rivers' in Iceland because the patterns as seen from a drone are so incredible. These designs in nature can't be appreciated from the ground; only with this new ability we have of shooting aerials without the need of a helicopter can we photograph this beauty. This particular river is an extreme example -- it is perhaps the best river I've photographed here. I used the equivalent of a 24mm lens, and the camera settings were 1/400, f/1.8, and 100 ISO. I was hovering 280 feet above the river, and the interplay of water courses and sand bars comprised mostly of lava produced a remarkable pattern.
