Glacial ice

I photographed this large piece of glacial ice on the Ice Beach in southern Iceland. The amount of ice changes daily, depending on the tide, the wind, and the currents. I made this image on a previous trip to Iceland. It is a 30 second exposure at f/16 and 400 ISO, and I used a 400mm focal length. I also used a 6-stop neutral density filter. The long exposure allowed the surf to blur around the base of the ice, but the piece of ice didn't move during that time because it was ground in the rocks and sand.
