This is a Malabar flying frog from Indonesia. These remarkable frogs can glide up to 50 feet between canopy trees as they use the webbing on their feet as parachutes. I just added to my bucket list photographing one of these guys as they sail through a forest. Not easy, I'm sure, but I'd love to get that shot. This is one of the colorful frogs in my Frogs and Reptile workshop held in Kansas City every summer. For this picture, I used a 50mm macro lens set to f/32, and the illumination came from a ring flash. I used manual mode and adjusted the exposure by varying the flash output. In post-processing, I cloned out the reflections from the flash in the eyes of the frog.
