I photographed this mother and baby Japanese macaque, i.e. snow monkeys, in a hot spring in the mountains about 3 hours from Tokyo. This is the way these primates survive the cold winter -- by staying in and around the warm water. The original background was out of focus and not attractive, so I replaced it with clouds using the sky replacement feature in Photoshop. I took this with a 280mm focal length, and the settings were 1/100, f/13, and 320 ISO.
