I had a darkroom for decades starting in the early 70's, and even then I was doing strange and crazy things with photography. This image is the wing of a dragonfly, but instead of photographing it with a macro lens, I placed the wing itself in the enlarger instead of a negative. Because the tissue of the wing was transparent, the pattern of the venation showed clearly. I then printed the wing on black and white paper. What you are seeing here is a negative image. When you print a negative, you get a positive. And when you print a positive, you get a negative. So, is this a photograph? No camera was involved.
