Tribal portrait in Papua New Guinea

took this picture in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea during the annual Sing Sing. Dozens of tribes get together to show off their tribal decorations and sing and dance. Originally, Christian missionaries orchestrated and encouraged this kind of event in an attempt to mitigate tribal warfare. In PNG, tribes fight mostly over pigs, land, and women, and not necessarily in that order. In this image, I used Photoshop to darken the background so all of the attention is directed to the subject. I used a 16-35mm lens for this shot, and the settings were 1/250, f/8, and 200 ISO.
