This is a green tree monitor from the island of New Guinea and several surrounding islands in the South Pacific. I photographed it last year during one of my Frog and Reptile workshops, and to make the photograph look more natural I added a background I shot in Borneo on a foggy morning. The reflection immediately in front of the monitor was done with the Photoshop plug-in Flood. It's always great when you can get a wildlife picture that is perfect in every way without any Photoshop work, but that don't happen often. So I use the tools at my disposal to create art in nature.
