These gray langur monkeys are commonly seen in India, especially in the national parks. There are literally thousands of them, and they often sit on the side of the gravel roads knowing they are not in danger from the skilled driver-guides. They don't often pose so nicely as you see here, though. The photographic challenge for this shot was the background was very light with strong backlighting while the black faces were quite dark. In post-processing, I had to select each face in Photoshop using the quick selection tool and use Edit > adjustments > levels to add contrast and to lighten the shadows. At the same time, I used the burn tool to darken the foliage behind the primates. The settings were 1/400, f/8, and 2500 ISO, and I used a 100-500mm Canon zoom.
