This is a helmeted iguana from Costa Rica. They can be hard to find because these reptiles are masters at camouflage. They change color to match their surroundings, and unless you are focused and intently looking for them, it can be very tough to spot them even though they may be right in front of you. If they don't move, they are just part of the forest. I used a 100-500mm Canon telephoto to capture this, and the settings were 1/500, f/5.6, and 250 ISO. I find reptiles endlessly fascinating, because it you could enlarge them 100 times, you'd have a living dinosaur.
