This has got to be the most beautiful bird in the world. It is a Lady Amherst's pheasant, named after Sarah Amherst, a British naturalist and biologist, who was responsible for sending the first specimen back to London in 1828. This species is native to China and northern Burma. I photographed this male in a large aviary in Bali, Indonesia and then replaced the original very messy background with a picture of out of focus foliage. I took the shot with a Canon 100-500mm zoom, and the settings were 1/320, f/9, and the astonishing 12,8000 ISO. It was obviously quite dark. In post-processing, I applied Topaz DeNoise AI and then Topaz Sharpen AI.
