Here is another unusual landscape. The badlands just outside of La Paz, Bolivia are surreal. The elevation here is 13,000 feet (4000 meters), so I was walking in slow motion to conserve oxygen. I shot this picture on film just before I went digital in 2005. The medium format film camera was the Mamiya RZ 67, and the wide angle lens I used was a 50mm lens. It was roughly equivalent to a 24mm focal length in the full frame digital format we use now. I took the shot on Fujichrome Velvia slide film, which was 50 ISO, and the transparency was scanned by a high-end Imacon scanner to digitize it. The settings were unrecorded, but they were probably 1/30 and f/16. Back then, I always used a tripod. I determined the exposure with a hand held Sekonic L-358 light meter.

Jim - You're very welcome, Barbara. There are too many places I have not yet been. It's a long list.
