I took this portrait of a 6-year old Korean neighbor in my garage. The large garage door was open allowing diffused light in, hence the blue color from a daylight white balance. For the artificial window, I bought a piece of 16x20 inch glass onto which I glued cut pieces of wooden molding to simulate an old-style window. I then sprayed glycerin on the glass to suggest rain. The warm side lighting on the girl's face came from a single photoflood bulb in a $10 reflector I got at a hardware store. The out of focus background is the interior of garage. This portrait was done in the 90's before I went digital; my camera was the Mamiya RZ 67, a 110mm lens, and the settings were unrecorded.
