These African white pelicans are on the endangered species list. I photographed this one in Walvis Bay, Namibia, from a moving boat. I took this with a 70mm focal length on a 70-200mm lens -- the bird was flying really close to the boat. One of the staff threw it a fish. Large birds like this move so much slower than small species, so I was able to slow my shutter speed down and increase the depth of field which was needed given the close proximity of the bird to the camera. My camera settings were 1/800, f/14, and 500 ISO. Usually clipping feet and wings like this should be avoided -- and I could fix that with Generative Expand -- but for some reason I'm ok with the way this was shot.
