The snow and ice festival in Harbin, China is one of the most astonishing things to see and to photograph. Large structures are constructed out of blocks of ice taken from the river that runs through the city. Colorful florescent lights are inserted into the ice so at night the scene is simply dazzling. The brilliant artistry, engineering, and creativity is second to none. For this domed ice building, my settings were 1/800, f/5.0, and 1000 ISO, and I used a 24-105mm lens hand held.
