One of the things remarkable about Patagonia is the incredible cloud formations. Every time I go there, I see these striking lenticular clouds that really look like flying saucers. The mountains here are the Torres del Paine range that are beautiful with a boring sky, but with the drama of lenticular clouds, the scene is magical. I used what I call the 'classic landscape technique' I learned in the '70s from David Muench -- make the foreground disproportionately large compared to the background with a wide angle lens placed 3 to 5 feet from the immediate foreground, and everything has to be in focus. I used a 24mm focal length here, and the settings were 1/100, f/22, and 1000 ISO.
