Macaws grooming

There is a huge sinkhole in Brazil near Campo Grande that's probably 1500 feet across and 400 or 500 feet deep. Nesting in this chasm are about 50 pairs of green and red macaws. There's constant activity, and it's easy to capture great images of birds in flight. This picture, though, shows two birds perched on a branch grooming each other. I was standing on a viewing platform on the rim of the sinkhole shooting almost straight downward. It was a very unusual perspective, especially for bird photography. I shot this with a Canon 500mm f/4 telephoto plus a 1.4x teleconverter which equates to 700mm of focal length. The camera settings were 1/640, f/8, and 1250 ISO.
