The best landscape in Scotland, in my opinion, is this one -- the Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye. The pinnacles formed from ancient volcanic activity and landslides. The basalt formation rises to 160 feet (55 meters), and it offers a striking graphic foreground to the Sound of Raasay in the distance. To get to this vantage point from the parking lot, you have to climb a fairly short but steep grassy trail to position yourself at the same height as the rock formation. I used a 24-105mm lens for this shot, the lens being set to 35mm, and the settings were 1/250, f/16, and 640 ISO.
