This is the interior of the dome in the parliament building in Budapest, Hungary. I used a 15mm Canon fisheye lens, but there is no apparent distortion typical of fisheyes. Both vertical and horizontal lines are rounded, i.e. distorted, when using a fisheye. However, when something is already round, the lens can't make it 'more round'. I hand held the camera because tripods are not allowed inside the parliament, but there is enough light to make a high quality image. The camera settings were 1/45, f/2.8, and 500 ISO. With extreme wide angle lenses, you can get away with slower shutter speeds than you'd normally use.

jim - interesting bit of info on wide angle lenses. I have one but seldom use it due to the distortion. This image makes that disappear. Now I have to get out there and try again.
