I haven't posted in the past two days because I've been camping in a remote part of Ethiopia near two Surma villages and there was no Internet connection at all. I photographed these two girls with a 24-105mm lens, and the settings were 1/400, f/5.0, and 2000 ISO. The background was black velvet again. There is really two approaches to photographing a tribe like this. I can document their lives as a photo journalist, or I can seek out the art aspect of the people as a photo artist. I'm the latter. I did take some shots showing tribal daily activities, but as a photo artist my focus is pictures like this. A clean background, great color, and images that hold your attention.
