For several years I organized a photo tour to photograph the beautiful white horses of the Camargue, a marshy region in southern France. One of the photo opportunities we set up was to put two stallions in the shallows of a marsh and capture the action between them. At a super fast frame rate -- 20 fps in this case -- I was able to photograph every nuance of the movement. And with a fast shutter speed, which is essential, the expressions, the flying manes, the splashes, and the tense musculature are all frozen in time. My settings for this picture were 1/5000, f/4.0, and 640 ISO. I really didn't need a shutter this fast, but I wanted to err on the side of maximum sharpness.
