I took this shot in a village in Italy. You can never go wrong with bold compositions of color and design. I did add some saturation using the 'vibrance' slider in Adobe Camera Raw (or Lightroom), but the colors were already pretty bright. I used a 24mm focal length on a 24-105mm lens, and the settings were 1/50, f/16, and 640 ISO. Even though wide angle lenses like the 24mm inherently have a lot of depth of field, I used a small aperture to insure every aspect of the frame was sharp. The closer you are to the foreground, the more you need a small aperture assuming you want everything tack sharp.
