I'm back in the Pantanal in Brazil with another photo tour group. Yesterday evening we found two jaguars relaxing on a fallen tree, and with the diffused light the situation was perfect. This image gives a real feel for the environment in which these jungle predators live. We watched the cats for about 2 hours, capturing every turn of their heads and every change of body position. The editing comes later. At the time of shooting, you have to capture everything because there's no telling which images will turn out to be favorites. I used a Canon 100-500mm telephoto for the shot, and the settings were 1/640, f/7.1, and 3200 ISO.
