I spent the day in Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse, Holland today. It is the most beautiful garden in the world, and the tulips on display were truly unbelievable. There were scores of exquisite varieties with every color imaginable. My photo tour group arrived early, just before they opened, so we could do landscape-type shots like this one devoid of people. Once the tour buses started coming and the famous gardens became crowded, we switched to doing closeups of flower patterns and macro photography. For this image, I used a 16mm focal length, and the settings were 1/60, f/22, and 2500 ISO. Had I used a tripod, I could have selected 100 ISO. The compromise I made was to walk around the 80 acres of that make up Keukenhof without being burdened by a tripod, and in post-processing it’s a simple matter of using Topaz De Noise to eliminate any unwanted noise.
