Last night I took my photo tour group to shoot the traditional windmills in Kinderdijk, Holland. The sky was overcast, and the sunset colors we were hoping for seemed unlikely to happen. Twenty minutes before sunset, though, the sky cleared near the western horizon and we suddenly had fabulous golden colors light up the 18th century mills. The deep blue-gray color of the sky contrasted beautifully with the golden illumination. I used a 24-105mm lens, and my settings were 1/320, f/6.3, and 2500. The sky didn't look this blue -- I enhanced the color using the vibrance slider in ACR -- and I think this gave the image added visual impact.
