This is a sandhill crane coming in for a landing in Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. When birds are flying toward the camera, the focus changes every millisecond. In the past, it was really challenging to keep flying birds in focus. With the eye tracking technology that we now have, it’s not difficult at all. The camera is able to keep up with the fast moving subject and lock focus onto it. My settings for this shot were 1/3200, f/10, and 6400.
