I photographed this ocelot kitten in the Peruvian Amazon. Unfortunately its mother had been killed by poachers, and the lodge I was staying in was raising it to be released back to the wild. It was 4 months old, and it was named Lady T. At dinner, Lady T would climb up on my lap, up on the table, and share my meal with me. It was really sweet. To get this shot, we placed the kitten in the forest for the natural environment, but the jungle floor was extremely dark even at midday. I took this years ago with film, and 100 ISO film I was using at the time made it impossible to get a good exposure in such dim conditions. So, I used flash. I typically don't like flash for wildlife because it looks so unnatural, but in this case I had no choice. The settings were unrecorded, but they were probably 1/250 and f/8.
