This is a drone shot taken during my last photo tour to Iceland. It is an ancient volcanic cinder cone amidst an amazing landscape. The DJI Air 2S drone was 330 feet above the ground, and the built in camera settings were 1/640, f/2.8, and 200 ISO. The focal length of the lens was 22mm. For this tour, I didn't use a controller because I wanted to minimize the weight and volume of my gear. So, I used my iPhone as the controller. In retrospect, that was a mistake. Controllers have better communication with their drones, so if you are shooting from a distance, there is less chance of getting into trouble. In this case, the drone was really close to me. Iceland is a stunning place to photograph, but with a drone the visual possibilities are absolutely through the roof. My next Iceland drone tour is August, 2026. I've since purchased a DJI Air 3S because it's a bit heavier and can handle the wind better than the 2S.

Jim - adjustments > hue/saturation. I love teaching Photoshop and showing clients what they can do to improve their images. I talk about this during the tour, and about 10 days to two weeks after we get home I have an online get together where we share images and I demonstrate how to make the pictures better. Please feel free to email me directly: photos@jimzuckerman.com.

Rod - Thanks for sharing this Jim. The photo and the landscape is stunning. I’m certainly enticed by the Iceland trip. Could you share the level of processing that you did on this particular photo? And are these techniques that we will be learning during the trip? Thanks
