This is a shot from my drone, a DJI Air 3S, of the same waterfall as I posted yesterday. I was shooting straight down on Tumpak Sewu falls in East Java, Indonesia, with a 24mm wide angle lens. The camera settings, which I can alter in the controller's software, were 1/40, f/1.8, and 100 ISO. The drone's stability as it hovers is remarkable, allowing slower-than-normal shutter speeds. What I look for in flying a drone is strong, artistic, and/or bold graphic design in landforms, architecture, or whatever I'm shooting. I think those kinds of images make the best photographs. The flight time I have in each battery is about 45 minutes, and with no wind and a warm temperature, I get close to the full amount. I use a small, foldable landing pad so when the drone takes off and lands, it doesn't kick up any dust that could damage the rotors and other sensitive parts of the UAV (unmanned aircraft).
